Ive never had this problem before but the new pup Caley had her mind set to getting into the cats soiled littler box anytime she can. I have 3 cats. One is strictly inside and the other two are in most of the time so its hard to keep the boxes clean all the time. I put one of the boxes on a chair with arms facing a wall and she moved the chair, spilled the whole boxes and rooted through it right in front of me. Even if the boxes are clean she'll either just dig in it and throw litter everywhere or if i havnt taken it to the dumpster yet, rip open the trash bag and proceed to dig in it again. She doesnt so much eat the poo as she does chew on it.
Any suggestion?

We have 2 litter boxes and theyre cleaned every 2-3 days. The pups a 4 month old boxer. Shes deaf, so we cant use loud noises. I keep a flyswatter right above the litter box, but as soon as I go outside she goes right to the litter box. Its not a nutirition deficiency bc shes not eating her own poo and theres always at least 2 rawhides left out for the 2 dogs that dont get crated. Any other ideas???? Shes driving me crazy and with winter coming up shes going to be inside a lot more often.

There is stuff at petsmart ect that, and this is gonna sound like a Jeff Foxworthy joke....makes the ppo taste bad. It could also be the diet you have your cats on. It could come out tasting close to the same way it did going in. (I watch animal planet...lol) If you are using cheap cat food, the cats don't digiest it completely so it tastes like crunchy (litter) cat food to dogs...lol

I feed the cats and the ferrets Purina One. She gets into the litter box but doesnt go near the ferrets cage to try to get to their poo. Ill try the food additive thought, thanx.
